Celebrating 40 Wonderful Years!
Celebrating 40 wonderful years!
Cheers to our 40th Anniversary!
It has been an exciting 40 years since our founders started Design Concepts in a tiny office in Boulder. In those decades the world has changed quite a bit, and so have we. We enjoy keeping our work creating outdoor spaces relevant and engaging. Our evolution has allowed us to continue creating communities that are healthier, happier, and more beautiful.
We love what we do, and you are a big part of that. As we look to the future we wish to thank you - our clients and colleagues - for making Design Concepts a success.
The world has seen great change this past year, and our amazing staff has had our back every step of the way. Much of our success is a result of the great bond and supportive culture we feel every day. We're proud to share with you some of the latest projects we've created, and a glimpse of life at DC.
A Few of Our Latest Projects
Newton Middle School
We believe open-air environments stimulate the mind to grow and focus on learning. One of our latest projects, Newton Middle School is an excellent example.
The design inspires creativity and innovation in an engaging 21st-Century learning environment. Multi-purpose learning spaces with strong connections to classrooms encourage learning experiences to extend to the outdoors.
The school also provides spaces for the District's NOVA program supporting K-12 students with special social and emotional needs.
Two Hunters Park
Two Hunters Park, a commemorative park honoring the lives of Mark Martinez and Joey Irwin of Firestone, CO ignites emotions of hope, peace, and optimism.
The park, named for the two men's love of hunting and fishing, was designed to turn the site of a devastating tragedy into a place of remembrance for the grieving family and their community after an explosion destroyed the Martinez's home in 2017. The park welcomes visitors to share the happy memories that their families enjoyed with Mark and Joey. The vision from the design group made for an impactful, detailed design that captures the memories of two lives well-lived.
Highland Heritage Regional Park
Our most recent work at Highland Heritage includes an iconic structure for concerts and events. The new stage opens this sports-focused park into a multi-functional place for the community. A weekly summer concert series keeps the park busy almost every day of the week.
The new West Fields offer premier synthetic turf playing fields for football, lacrosse and soccer. The fields are some of the most heavily used in the County's park system. The weekends are booked with games and tournaments, and weekdays are busy with practices and workouts. It's not uncommon to find local pros practicing at these fields out of the limelight.
