Animas River Trail

Durango, Colorado

Our team built a strong relationship with the City of Durango and Sugnet Environmental over a six-year period. We worked with them on the design of several portions of trail and a pedestrian bridge along the Animas River.

The planning included environmental studies, analyzing existing conditions, and preparing alternatives to address trail alignments along the river. We collaborated with Sugnet on the 9th Street Underpass and Main Street Underpass, establishing the trail crossings at these intersections. Choosing the best alternative for users and supporting the decision with thorough design ensured these crossings were positively received and appropriate additions to the architecture of the trail.
