Dr. Justina Ford Elementary | Littleton Public Schools
Dr. Justina Ford Elementary, named to honor Colorado's first licensed female African American physician, is the District's first new elementary school since the 80's. Themes of nature were incorporated in both the interior and exterior details. Large windows looking out onto the courtyards help bring the welcoming feel of the outdoor landscape inside.
Landscape components include three playground areas serving intermediate, primary, and kindergarten age groups, asphalt games to incorporate learning outsidof the classroom, including math, sciences, and social themes, and courtyards designed between the wings of the building to provide breakout spaces for outdoor learning, school events, and informal exploration.
