Frederick High School | St. Vrain Valley School District
LEED Silver Green Build
Frederick High School in Frederick, Colorado is St. Vrain Valley School District's newest high school. We designed several athletic elements including a synthetic nine-lane 400m track, synthetic turf in the football/soccer stadium, bleachers capable of seating 1,152 home and 493 away fans, post-tensioned tennis courts, three multi-use practice fields, one Varsity and one JV baseball field, and one Varsity and one JV softball field. We also designed two large, welcoming student plazas, and provided all planting and irrigation design.
Surface drainage is used wherever possible to limit piping and encourage water quality efforts. Bioswales are located at the lower end of the student parking lot to pick up drainage. The site is certified LEED Gold.
The site was irrigated with reuse water from the Town of Frederick, using a pond built on-site from which to pull water. The pond can be filled from a domestic supply, should the reuse water ever be unavailable.
